Message in order to get more out of the brakes and *NOT* change:

rotor size
pad size
pistons (rebuild kits)
wheel size

they changed the composition to iron and left all the other parts alone.

The Z32 could have had 12.75" brakes in 1993... they where available in Japan on the R33 however there was no part support for it in the US and it would have forced a larger wheel... Both of which would have added to the production cost and support cost of the Z32 which was already sliding in sales and becoming too pricey to sell at a profit due to changes in exchange rates among other things.
